what is evaporation:
Evaporation refers to the action and effect of evaporating or evaporate, which consists of the physical process by which a liquid substance happens slowly and gradually to the vapor State. The term comes from the latin evaporatĭo, evaporatiōnis.
Evaporation occurs as a result of a natural or artificial increase of temperature. In the case of water, the agitation of the molecules by the action of heat causes that they will gain enough energy to get rid of the liquid and become steam.
Evaporation processes are consistent in our environment and occur spontaneously. For example, if we leave a glass of water uncovered, to turn a few days we discovered that a part of the liquid has been evaporated.
The water cycle evaporation
Evaporation is one of the phases of the hydrological cycle, or cycle of water, essential for life. The water that is in the oceans or on the Earth’s surface is constantly evaporating by the action of solar energy. To reach the gaseous state, rises into the atmosphere to condense and form clouds. It is then precipitated in the form of rain, snow, fog or mist, and returns to the Earth’s surface and oceans, where, already in a liquid state, starts again all.
Evaporation and boiling
Evaporation and boiling are different physical processes, but both refer to the passage of a substance from liquid to gaseous. In this sense, the evaporation is the process that occurs, leisurely way and at any temperature, in the surface of a liquid, while boiling involves the subjugation of the entire mass of liquid at a pressure and specific temperatures, which is called boiling point.
Lightning evaporation, also known as sudden evaporation or flash, is the name that refers a technological process based on boiling and condensation of a fluid from its evaporation. This is done, consecutively, in different cameras that operate at temperatures and pressures gradually declining, for as a product whether it is the remnant of the evaporation process or, on the contrary, their resulting. Examples of this would be the dealcoholization of wine and the desalination of water.
In hydrology, evapotranspiration, as the Word indicates, is the process of evaporation and transpiration considered altogether, and occurs when there is the release molecules of steam into the atmosphere from the transpiration of plants and surface waters and soils. The study of evapotranspiration is used in the field of agricultural sciences to get the most out of the water resources in the development of crops.
