Meaning of Memory ROM

what is memory ROM:

The ROM memory is the storage of programs and data that allow the proper functioning of computers or electronics through the reading of the information unless it can be destroyed or reprogrammed. The meaning of ROM memory is “Read Only Memory” translated into the Spanish “Read only memory.”

The ROM memory is known as non-volatile memory the information contained therein is not erasable by turning off electronic device.

The ROM memory is installed in the motherboard “motherboard” place where the basics of the team, called “BIOS.”

The oldest ROM memory stores MROM is indestructible and to update the software or data is necessary to replace the chip which not can be done by anyone but an expert or the manufacturer, with the technological advances few programs are stored in the ROM memory since most of them are located in the new ROM memories; Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM) memory is a memory that is erasable and reprogrammable through strong ultraviolet rays, and the memory Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (FLASH EEPROM) can be reprogrammed, erasable and can alter the content through electrical signals.

Be the year 2007 is very difficult to find devices with ROM memory reprogrammable computers are more flexible and economic.

What is ROM memory

The ROM memory is of utmost importance for the proper functioning of computers and electronic devices since being ignited the ROM memory allows for starting the initial program that will lead to the initiation of the whole system.

ROM memory is used to store programs firmware, i.e. to store operating system, language interpreters, control programs programs (power); program information (use numeric tables) tables; and other programs that do not need to be modified or updated consistently.

Memory ROM and RAM memory

The information contained in the ROM memory is not erasable by turning off the computer or with the cutting of electricity, so that it is called non-volatile memory, whereas the information contained in the memory volatile memory, or RAM is erasable and may be lost in the event that the user does not record the information on the computer for example: when we write in Word the information must go saving.

RAM memory is faster to read the ROM memory is why normally the information contained in the ROM memory is transferred to the RAM.

Memory RAM is random access information remains recorded in the electronic device and it is possible your quick access.
