Meaning of Synergy

what is synergy:

Synergy means cooperation, and is a term from Greek origin, “synergia”, which means “working together”. The synergy is a job or an effort to perform a very complex task, and achieve success at the end. Synergy is the time in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, therefore, there is one higher yield or a higher effectiveness than if it acts separately.

The context of synergy first emerged in the religious sphere, such as Saint Paul established it in his Epistles, is the result of work between man and God. Just in the year 1925, the term was used in a non-theological context with general systems theory proposed by the German biologist, Ludwig Von Bertanlanffy since a system basically consists of a set of elements that relate between si in order to achieve one or more objectives.

Synergy is when two objects, or even two persons, acting in the same manner to achieve a particular goal. This term is also used to talk about couples and different levels of friendship, where people strive much to make the relationship work and both parties do the same.

Synergy is the active competition and concentrate various organs to perform a function and, said term may be seen in different contexts all depends on that you want to express. In Physiology or biology, synergy is the Act in which various organs or muscles move with the same purpose, with the same aim, for example: thanks to the synergy between the organs of the human being is that it can breathe, eat, etc…

In mathematics, specifically in the theory of systems, synergy is the convergence of the parts of a whole which aim to achieve the same result. In medicine, the synergistic effect is the interaction between the drugs or the drugs where you get a different result of which it would have been if these drugs were supplied independently.

In the field of psychology, synergy is the union of different knowledge and skills to meet a goal of efficiently and effectively, this is achieved through collaboration, union of several efforts, providing each individual what you do best and complementarity between them.

Also, the term of synergy can be used in a community or society, at work, at home, among other contexts since the development and the efforts of the individual to achieve a goal can be measured by the existing synergy, all because the results will be greater than the sum of the individual effects, i.e., are the advantages that they get for the teamwork that goes to a single address in reference to this point, emerges the positive synergy if the elements that compose the system are well integrated now if in a group there is disintegration, and do not contribute anything to the success, verified negative synergy.

An example of synergy is when there are only two alternatives, between two people, and rather than argue about which is better, seeking a third alternative, i.e., the option more synergistic and harmonious. A clock is also an example of synergy, because their parts separately could not indicate the time.

Business synergy

Synergy is also a very important concept in a business context or business, within a company, it is important that there is synergy between the different departments, so that the joint action has as a result the company’s success. In this area, synergy can be positive or negative, depending on if the set is fruitful or minor results.
