What is Google Now?
Google Now is a smart personal assistant developed by Google and available for Android smartphones, iOS and also for computers using Google Chrome as a browser.
Google Now uses a natural language interface to answer questions asked by the user, make recommendations, and also perform actions that they request. Google Now also delivers information predicting what the user will want based on their search habits.
If you use Siri, the Apple engine for your devices, Google Now is basically a Siri but with many other tools added, and you can use it on more platforms.
What are Google Now voice commands?
In addition to accepting typed questions, Google Now can also listen to your questions and answer them. The commands are simple and will not always give you the correct results. However, the quality of results and answers is constantly being worked on by Google, improving with each new Google Now update.
How do I use voice commands in Google Now?
To use Google Now, you must activate your computer’s microphone, smartphone, or tablet, click the microphone-like icon in Google Chrome, or the Google Now app, and say the command . Or you can open the application and say “Ok Google” to then say the command.

It is worth remembering that the commands do not have to be complete and can be defined missing one or other information such as time or something. Open (application name)
With popular apps, Google does a great job of opening them. Already applications little used, it has a little difficulty opening. Even so, this command is very useful and practical.

Alarm for (x) hours
It works perfectly and is very practical. Be careful not to say “set” or “set” at the beginning, as Google Now might lead you to a search instead of setting your alarm.
Example of use: “Alarm for 7 hours”
Create event (event description + day + time)
This event will be created directly in Google Calendar. Be careful not to give a very complicated event to Google Now to interpret.
Example of use: “Create event: lunch in São Paulo, Saturday, 19 hours”
Remind me / Remind me (something you need to remember + day + time)
This command will create an alarm with a simple description. You can tell the date or day of the week to mark the reminder, very useful to remember, for example, to put clothes to wash or something that you have to buy when you are in the street.
Example of use: “Remind me to buy toilet paper on Saturday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m.”
Annotation (phrase, thought, lyrics etc)
An annotation will be saved in the standard note-taking application on your device. It could be Gmail, Google Keep, Evernote, among many others. The first time, the device may prompt you to set the default application.
Example of use: “Annotation John and Mary went to their grandmother’s house before being persecuted by the witch”
Movie Hours (city or movie name)
Choose either the city or the movie name. The two commands together do not work, but this may change with program updates. This command will give you the movies, schedules and movie locations in the city.
Example of use: “Belo Horizonte movie times” or “Lord of the Rings movie times”
This command will be very used by you, since it is difficult to decorate so many commands. This command will give you a list of possible commands via Google Now.
When is my / my next / next (event, meeting, work, gym)
Based on your Google Calendar, this command will inform you of the next event you want to know.
Example of use: “When is my next gym?”
Go to / Open (name or web site address)
Open the site in your device’s default browser.
Example of use: “Open Estadão”
Record a video / Take a picture
These commands open the default camera application on your device to record videos or take pictures.
Call (name of person)
Opens the default connection application to place a call to the person.
Example of use: “Call mother’s house”
Send text message to (contact name + message)
You can send messages by default program also including the body of the message.
Example of use: “Send message to Carlos warning that I will travel and I will not be able to go to work”
Listen / Play (band name or song)
Self explanatory. Be careful when using English Joel Santana, because Google Now may end up misunderstanding you.
Example use: “Play Charlie Brown Jr.”
Navigate to / Routes to (name of street or place)
With this command, you’ll use Google Maps or the default navigation program to give you the directions and / or possible routes for a location.
Example of use: “Navigate to the Tower of Pisa”
